The company is actively leveraging in solar and wind energy and other energy resource management to transition towards cleaner, renewable alternatives. By investing in these emerging technologies and integrating them with its traditional operations, OIL aims to reduce its carbon footprint, contribute to India’s renewable energy targets, and ensure a more sustainable energy future. This forward-looking approach not only aligns with global environmental goals but also positions OIL as a progressive player in the evolving energy sector.

Wind & Solar Power

Nationwide impact: Our projects are spread across several states e.g. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, producing clean energy.

Positive environmental impact: We're reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to India's Net Zero goals.

Green Hydrogen Path

Pioneering Green Hydrogen Production in Line with National Mission: OIL leads the way with India's first AEM technology-based GH2 plant (100 kW) at our Jorhat facility in Assam, aligning perfectly with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Championing Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles : OIL supported the development of India's first 9-meter H2 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) bus through our start-up program “SNEH”. This zero-emission bus, powered by a 60 KW PEM fuel cell engine, was flagged off by the Prime Minister himself at India Energy Week 2023.

Compressed Biogas

OIL is currently undertaking a project to establish 25 (twenty-five) Compressed Biogas plants across India. These plants are strategically planned to utilize a variety of feedstocks including Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Agri-waste, and other suitable organic materials.
